A club built for rural talent

Kerumbe Athletics Sports Club was founded by chairman Steve Makwae Gekara to help gifted young athletes in Kenya's rural primary and secondary schools access sponsorship, training, equipment and mentorship. Our purpose is simple: bring athletics from the countryside to the mainstream while keeping education at the heart of every athlete's journey.

2026 breakthrough

For Kerumbe Athletics Sports Club, our involvement in the 2026 Belgut Marathon in Kabianga was a turning point. Athletes such as the King of Marathon Eliud Kipchoge, retired steeplechase sensation Ezekiel Kemboi, Africa Sprint Champion Ferdinand Omanyala, and national and local leaders such as the Cabinet Minister for Interior Security and Administration Kipchumba Murkomen, Belgut Member of Parliament Hon. Nelson Koech, Kericho County Senator Aaron Cheruiyot, and the Bomet County Women Representative Hon. Linet Chepkorir "Toto" were all present.
